I am writing to express my interest in EY's Business Consulting opportunity supporting the Department of Defence. My career has centred on complex transformation across Australian Defence, national security and Federal Government environments, combining business transformation, operating-model design, business architecture, organisational change and technology-enabled delivery.

The Defence and national-security thread is a consistent part of my career. At Oracle, national security was the principal focus of my role. At Unisys, my responsibility included Defence, Home Affairs and Foreign Affairs and Trade, working across transformation and technology strategy in complex Commonwealth environments. At AWS, my work extended across critical infrastructure and secure hosting, including emerging AI initiatives involving Australian Army and Navy environments.

Earlier, at HPE/DXC, I led business-value and transformation work across Defence and Federal Government, including Defence's Secure Collaboration and Search programme in an approximately $250M programme context. I have also worked across Federal Government business analysis, service transformation and organisational change, including a global immigration transformation spanning 65 countries.

This experience aligns directly with the Business Transformation side of EY's mandate: translating strategy into executable roadmaps, shaping future-state operating models, improving business processes, establishing governance and performance structures, and bringing people, process and technology together through change.

I also bring the commercial and stakeholder discipline required in consulting environments. I have advised more than 50 CIOs and CTOs and facilitated more than 100 executive workshops and discovery/architecture engagements. My experience spans executive advisory, opportunity shaping, architecture, business-value analysis and delivery decisions, allowing me to move between strategic intent and operational detail.

My strongest alignment to this opportunity is Business Transformation, supported by substantial Defence and technology-enabled transformation experience. Where the role intersects with supply chain operations, procurement, supplier management, logistics and performance, I would bring the broader operating-model, process, governance and technology transformation disciplines demonstrated throughout my career, without overstating specialist end-to-end supply-chain ownership.
